WAEC Result 2020: WAEC releases 2020 SSCE results

The West African Examinations Council has just released the WAEC result, 2020 examination for the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination on Monday, November 2, 2020.

 

Mr Patrick Areghan, Head of the National office stated that a total of 1,549, 740 had enrolled for the just concluded examination.

 

Patrick said 1,338,348 candidates representing about 86.99% had obtained credit and above in a minimum of any five subjects with or without English Language and Mathematics.

 

Areghan also stated that about 1,003,668 candidates which represented 65.24% had obtained credits and above in a minimum of five subjects which included English Language and Mathematics.

 

To Check the results, candidates were instructed to visit www.waecdirect.org the website of WAEC.

A statement, which quoted Patrick as saying that, “The results of 215,149 candidates which represented 13.98% of all the total number of candidates  that stood for the examination are being withheld.

 

In his word, “A total of 1,549, 740 candidates registered for the examination from 19,129 recognised secondary schools in Nigeria.

 

Of the number that registered for the examination, 1,538,445 candidates sat the examination.

 

“The examination was also administered to candidates from some schools in Benin Republic, Ivory Coast, and Equatorial Guniea where the Nigeria curriculum for Senior Secondary School is being used.

“The results of 215, 149 candidates which represented 13.98% of the  total number of candidates that sat for the examination are being withheld because of series reports of cases of examination malpractice.

“The cases are being investigated on and reports of the investigations will be submitted to the appropriate Committee of the Council for determination in due course.”

 

H-Forbes gathered that the released of the results was postponed till on Monday the November 2, 2020 due to the violence and arson in Nigeria.

 

“The unrest in the country affected some of it’s offices and operations nationwide- WAEC

 

H-Forbes earlier gathered that the West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination, (WAEC) was held between the space of August 17, 2020 to Saturday, September 12th.
