According to our source, the US lawyer, Gal Pissetzky who’s the legal representative of Ramon Abass aka Hushpuppi, the internet fraudster told Healthforbes Media that his case is getting better.
He also debunk rumours about him dumping the suspect, restating that he will represent him in California where the case has been adjourned to.
The Dubia Police arrsted Hushpuppi and extradited him to the United States of America, there he was handed over to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Ramon Abass aka Hushpuppi is a 37-year old who with his gangs were reportedly arrested for defrauding 1,926,400 people from diffrent parts of the globe and stolen about 1.6bn Dirham (N168bn).
The FBI also reported that Hushpuppi attempted to fraud an English Premier League football club of 100m Euros (N48.4bn).
His arraignment was in Chicago court on Monday and remanded in custody.
Hushpuppi’s prosecution was reportedly transferred to the Central District of California.
According to our source his lawyer, Pissetzky said that Hushpuppi stood a good chance of being acquitted.
Pissetzky, who’s a top attorney in Chicago had said he would bring up a vigorous defence for him.
He said on Friday that his services were still retained by Hushpuppi despite the transfer of his case to California.
In his word, “I am still representing him. I will be in California for the case.
“Our legal system is slightly different from yours. That he was denied bail doesnt mean his case is getting worse. But actually i think it’s getting better.
I am not however allowed to comment on the facts of the case.
“There is no new prove brought forward by the FBI at this point. Whatever rumours report that suggests things are getting worse for him are false.”
