Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, has announced the discharge of twenty-two COVID-19 patients of within the state.
The patients’ discharge followed their treatment, recovery and testing negative twice for the virus. This was per the state Commissioner for Health and Chairman of the state Task Force on COVID-19, Muhammad Inname.
He said, “This brings to 41 the whole number of COVID-19 patients, out of 176 cases, thus far discharged by the Task Force.”
Describing the present discharges as “the highest thus far achieved by the state”, he reiterated that “being COVID-19 isn’t a death sentence in any way”.
The government implored the people of the state to avoid stigmatization of any reasonably those infected by the virus.
“This development shows that a lot of of these infected by the disease do recover and approach their normal activities.
“Contact tracing is ongoing. we’ve got identified 844 contacts, tested 436 suspected cases and authorized that 176 cases are positive,” the commissioner explained.
