The FG on Wednesday commenced on the disbursement of N20,000 Cash to the poor homes, less priveleges and almajiris during the lockdown in Nigeria.
The commencement of the cash transfer took place at the Kwali Area Council in the nation’s capital Abuja, Nigeria’s Minister Sadiya Umar Farouq who’s the directorate to humanitarian affairs, disaster management and social development announced that the distribution of the funds were in compliance to the directive of President Muhammadu Buhari.
“We have directed immediate cash transfer to the poorest and most vulnerable households in the country,” The Minister stated.
“Because of this novel coronavirus, the vulnerable groups have to expand, because we are fully noted that there are citizens who live on daily earnings, so we are also going to consider these citizens on how we can get this fund relief intervention to them in this isolation hard times.”
The minister in a statement on Tuesday said FG will be distributing food to vulnerable houses in Nigeria during the coronavirus lockdown in Nigeria.
Sadiya announced that the food items will be shared amongst the vulnerable houses in Lagos, FCT, & Ogun State local governments where His Excellency President Muhammadu Buhari ordered the lockdown in Abuja, Ogun and Lagos state for 14 days on Sunday.
The minister restated that the FG’s relief programmes will support Nigerians curtail the hardtimes this pandemic has brought about to necessitated th lockdown rules by the federal government.
