Kano state, the most populated State in the northern part of Nigeria has been the epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic since its first index case reported on the 11th April,2020 by the Nigeria Center for Disease Contro (NCDC) of Kano state.
Series of death cases from the Coronavirus has been recorded and also the new confirmed cases are always on the increase but without any report of patients discharged except for today,Tuesday 5th May, 2020, which 3 patients have been discharged in Kano State.
This Good news was broken by the co-ordinator of the Technical response team, Mallam, Tijani Hussain in Kano on Tuesday the 5th May 2020.
This wonderful development is a good omen to Kano State and also a sign that the Presidential Covid-19 task force deploys to Kano state are doing a Great job.
Mr Hussein stated that the task force are operating strictly by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) guidelines as per admission and discharge of patients, he added that more patients in the isolation Centers
will be discharged soon.
He said; “The Kano state positive cases still remains 365 with 8 deaths and 3 discharged”.
Quoting the coordinator,”so far we have collected 313 samples,182 tested at Abuja, 60 at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital and 71 at BUK.So far we have 22.8 percent of positive cases in Kano state”
“We are on Contact to trace over 40064 are without symptoms and seven are positive. We are still having challenges of resistance and non-disclosure of status from our contacts”.
