The Kano state Assistant commissioner of police,Commander Atiku Nagodi who was a vibrant and popular police officer in Kano state,died today Monday 4th of May,2020.
Late Nagodi was the squadron Commander of 9 police mobile force. Amid the strange deaths recorded in Kano state lately,Nagodi is the latest victim,he died of a brief illness.
The police superintendent,Abdullahi Bala Rano,who shared the heart breaking story on facebook earlier today, said the cause of the death is yet to be disclosed.
The Governor of Kano state,His excellency Abdullahi Ganduje Umar who once said the COVID-19 Pandemic has no link with the strange deaths in Kano,now said; “there is no doubt Kano is in trouble”.he also added that there is no doubt we started in a shaky foundation. He made this statement in a presentation of a COVID-19 mobile testing center which was donated by the Dangote Foundation to the State.
He also said that the delay In the testing of the suspected COVID19 cases in the state led to the hike in the number of infected persons in the state.
The Chief press Secretary to the Governor of Kano state,Abba Anwar stated that,Governor Ganduje said that lack of testing centers in the state worsened the situation of the COVID19 Pandemic.
The Director General of Nigeria Center for disease Control(NCDC),Dr.Chikwe Ihekweazu who was also at the presentation said, ” the people of Kano state should just know that we have not left you.We are solemnly behind u hundred percent.
“Be rest assured that by the time we hear from the findings of the team of Dr. Nasiru Dani Gwarzo,from the presidential task force for the days they have been here, we will have more solutions that we will be using to solve Kano’s problem.
According to NCDC,313 coronavirus infections cases have been reported in Kano state.
