Kano State, the state with the second highest total confirmed cases in the whole of Nigeria, have Discharged 18 more patients from their respective Isolation Centers.
Kano is the epicenter of Coronavirus pandemic in Nigeria, preceeded by Lagos State which have the highest number of total confirmed cases.
Since the unusual deaths reported in Kano state, the Federal Government has pivoted a lot of effort in the state as the World Health Organization (WHO) and United Nations redeployed 3,000 health personnel to Kano state.
The presidential task force have been working relentlessly in the state,and the state Governor, Alhaji Ganduje also urges the Government to treat the State as the Major city that it is because the state is the Center of commerce in the country, after Lagos state.
The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC), announced this in a late-night tweet, saying that was the situation in the state as of 11:47pm on Saturday.
He added that 26 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the state and five more deaths recorded with the latest reports, Kano has a total of 602 confirmed Coronavirus cases and 26 fatalities.
Earlier, Muhammad Garba, the Commissioner for Information in Kano, announced in a statement that 10 recovered COVID-19 patients had been discharged.
He explained that the patients have recovered fully and tested negative for the coronavirus in two consecutive readings and would be reunited with the society.
Mr Garba added that three other patients lost the battle to COVID-19 on Sunday, he noted that Kano has so far tested 2,072 samples for COVID-19 across its centres in the state.
He appealed to the residents to maintain high personal hygiene by ensuring regular use of hand sanitizers and washing of hands with soap and running water.
The commissioner also asked them to use the face masks and strictly observe social distancing among others, as part of measures put in place by the authorities to harness the spread of COVID-19.
