Dr Haliru Alhassan, who was the former Minister of Health was reportedly dead on Sunday the May 10th 2020 Healthforbes Media reports.
Until his demise, Dr Alhassan was the Chairman, Governing Board, Health Services Management Board of Sokoto State. He passed on in Sokoto yesterday Sunday the 10th May 2020.
The Director General, Information and Communication Technology Directorate of Sokoto State Mallam Nasir Daniya announced his death via his official twitter handle.
His tweets States…”Just hearing of the death of former Minister of Health, Chairman, Govering Board of Health Services Management Board, Sokoto State, Dr Haliru Alhassan. May his Soul rest in peace. Amin, “Daniya wrote these statement on Sunday via twitter.
Late Alhassan Linkedln profile showed that he served as the Chairman, Governing Board, Health Services Management Board, Sokoto State from the month of September 2019 till his death yesterday Sunday.
It also showed that he was the former Minister of Health, Co-Lead Nigeria Ebola Response Team, between the month of Marh 2015- May 2015.
On the website of the Federal Ministry of Health indicated that late Alhassan was the Minister of State for Health and Chairman Presidential Task Force on Polio Eradication in Nigeria between the month of February 2014 and March 2015.
Some information available on the website also showed that he was a graduate of Medical University Plovdiv, Bulgaria where he studied Medicine between the year 1982 and 1988 before he got his Master’s degree in Tropical Paediatrics at Liverpool School Of Tropical Medicine from the year 1994-1995 Healthforbes Media reports.
