The officers in River State reported that some of their Police men discovered a baby factory, rescued a neonate (a day old child) and paraded 7 people at a local government named Igwuruta, at the Ikwerre area of the State.
Nnamdi Omoni who is the Spokesman for the Command said this amidst the arrest of the suspects at the Port Harcourt on Tuesday.
The Baby’s father was among the suspects paraded, he was the mastermind behind the sales of his baby boy for the whooping sum of N900,000.
Nnamdi stated, “Operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, acting on a tip-off, swooped on the suspects, this include the owner of the baby factory, just after they bargain a price of N900,000 for the baby boy, the sum was paid in two tranches of N600,000 and N300,000 to the go-betweens.
“The baby was delivered less than 24-hours before it was sold. The conspiracy was between the father of the baby boy and the prospective buyers.
The police image maker said all the suspects had confessed their roles in the selling of the child.
