The Governor of Kano State His Excellency Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, declared a lockdown of the state for 7-days as another new case of the novel Coronavirus was confirmed.
The Lockdown is as an effort to curtail the spread of this pandemic which is a threat to the respiratory system. Governor Umar who announced this on Tuesday the 14th April 2020 said the 7-days lock down begins from 10pm on Thursday the 16th April.
Below were his advice to Kano State Citizens
We want to however inform the Kano State residents to start stocking their houses with food stuffs,provisions and the needful items as much as they can afford so that we can halt the spread of this novel virus.
The lockdown would stop the market traders and mosque gathering every fridays and its effect starts on Thursday 16th April 2020.

COVID-19: Kano Records 2 More Cases
The State however recorded one additional Coronavirus case earlier today Tuesday the 14th April 2020. With this, the total number of positive COVID-19 Cases in Kano state grows to 4Cases.
The Governor who confirmed the new Coronavirus Case said the patient had come in contact with an index patient after 18samples were tested in the Laboratory.
Before the new cases, Kano lockdown its boundaries but with the increasing number of confirmed cases, the government announced a restriction of movement in Kano State.

Because of the increasing number of the Coronavirus cases, His Excellency President Muhammadu Buhari was forced to extend the lockdown for another 14-days in order to halt the spread of the pandemic.
The lockdown is on-going in almost all the states in Nigeria.
