Kano State Police Commander on Tuesday confirmed the arrest of 18 suspected persons, who allegedly violated the lockdown rules of Kano state in Kano news.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abdullahi Kiyawa, reported that the arrests were effected at Kano Municipal, Garko, Karaye and Taurauni local government areas of Kano state.

He said, “The suspects were arrested for leading Jumat prayers in violation of the social distancing and lockdown directive.” in Kano News.
Haruna reiterated the commitment of the command to enforce compliance with the order as well as protect lives and property in the state.
The state governor, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, had ordered a lockdown for an initial seven days, which commenced on April 16, in order to curb the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
