This Extention is the third of the second phase of lockdown presently observed cross the nation.
Boss Mustapha who is the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) disclosed this in the middle of the Task Force briefing in Abuja on Thursday along side with the Chairman of the Presidential Task Force (PTF).
However, school resumption dates were not disclosed by the task force. They met with His Excellency President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday and had a brief discussion on the progress achieved so far in curbing the transmission of the novel Coronavirus and keeping Nigeria Citizens safe from contracting the deadly virus.
Boss Mustapha during an interview with press men today stated that the PTF has done some recommendations to the President and the extention of the current ease of lockdown was one of the inferences that was approved.
It was however re-emphasized by the SGF for the need of Nigeria citizens to adhere to rules and regulations by taking responsibility and stop the stigmatization of persons who have been infected with the virus or had tested negative by the deadly virus.
For International flights travelers passengers, they are to arrive the airport 3-hours before the flight while domestic flights are to arrive the airport at least an hour and half before the actual flight time.
The ban on entertainment Center gatherings is still maintained, restrictions on recreational amusement parks have been lifted for non-contact physical activities.
Boss Mustapha added that meetings scheduled for government officials and parastatals will continue to be held virtually, however under the revised guidelines of the eased lockdown which will be maintained in the next four weeks, the present nationwide curfew scheduled from 10pm-6am still stands.
According to the SGF, the major changes being proposed are aimed at achieving the gradual re-opening of internatinal air flights within established parameters and the re-opening of rail transportation within established parameters, and the granting of permissions to exit classes to resume ahead of examinations such as the primary 6, JSS3 and SS3 respectively.
The PTF Chairman further stated that to sustain profits already made in the last few weeks, the task force recommended to His Excellency President Buhari to maintain the present phase of the response, with minor changes to address economic, socio-political and health concerns.
