Shehu Usman who’s the Chairman of Jos North Local Government area in Plateau State has given an order that the closure of the primary health care clinic in Ungwa Rimi Community of the area council should commence with immediate effect.
According to our source, the closure order came after 3-members of staff were infected with the novel Coronavirus as they all tested positive after their test result came out by the Nigeria Centre For Disease Control (NCDC).
Mr Philip Eplong who’s the Senior Information Officer of Jos North Local Government Area announced the development in a statement on Wednesday.
Philip said, “The Primary Health Care Clinic in Unguwa Rimi in Jos North Local Government Area has been sealed.
This follows the COVID-19 Positive test results of the three medical personnel from Unguwa Rimi Primary Health Centre”
The council chairman spoke further that after some series of tests, 3 out of the 15 health workers at the centre tested positive for the novel Coronavirus.
He beckoned on all health workers in the environment to be more careful when treating or attending to any patient.
Usman had called and instructed all health workers to be cautious in handling any patient.
Danladi Dashe who’s the Supervisory Councilor of the Primary Health Care had said 3-infected personnels had long been quarantined for effective treatment while other remaining 12 who tested negative had gone into self-isolation.
He calmed the residents of Jos North not to panic as the local government authorities were doing everything within their best to halt further spread of the novel Coronavirus.
