The Nigeria Centre For Disease Control (NCDC) announced via its Tweeter handle that there are 338 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria as at Lastnight Sunday 17th May 2020 with 6 death recorded.
Until now, Nigeria has a total confirmed cases of the novel Coronavirus as 5,959 with 4,183 active cases, 1,594 discharged cases and 182 death numbers recorded in the 34 states of Nigeria including the nation’s capital (FCT) Healthforbes Media reporting.
The breakdown of the 338 new cases as announced by the Nigeria Centre For Disease Control (NCDC) are as follow;

Lagos the epicentre of the deadly virus has 177 new confirmed cases, Kano the epicentre of the deadly in the northern part of Nigeria has 64 new confirmed cases, the nation’s capital, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has 21 new confirmed cases, River State has 16 new confirmed cases, Plateau State has 14 new confirmed cases, Oyo State has 11 new confirmed cases, Katsina State has 9 new confirmed cases, Jigawa State has 4 new confirmed cases, Kaduna has 4 new confirmed cases, Abia State has 3 new confirmed cases, Bauchi State has 3 new confirmed cases,. Borno State has 3 new confirmed cases. Gombe State has 2 new confirmed cases, Akwa Ibom State has 2 new confirmed cases, Delta State has 2 new confirmed cases, Ondo State has 1 new confirmed cases, Kebbi State & Sokoto State also has 1 each new confirmed cases.
A total of about 33,970 samples has been collected and tested since the outbreak of the novel Coronavirus in Febuary.
