His excellency Governor Of Nasarawa Abdullahi Sule announced that the state has reported an additional confirmed case of the novel Coronavirus, making it a sum total 12 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Nasarawa.
Governor Sule made this report during a State Security meeting held earlier today tuesday the 5th May 2020 in Lafia at the early hours of today Tuesday. Gov. Sule said the infected person is a driver to the Nigerian Centre For Disease Control (NCDC), who carries tests samples for the agency in Abuja and got infected in the process of transportation.
He added the driver lives around Karu Local Government Area in Ado of the State, he was confirmed positive earlier this morning on Tuesday the 5th May 2020.
The patients has been taken to the Isolation Centre at the Federal Medical Centre Keffi, for treatments by health experts.
His excellency further explained that all positive tested patients have long been receiving care and maximum medical treatment at Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital. Lafia and the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Keffi.
Governor Sule also said that the State had since taken delivery of 6,000 Personal Protective types of equipment (PPE), 50,000 imported face mask as well as another 50,000 hand-made face-mask by the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
Governor Sule has encouraged the People of Nasarawa State to observe to all the Federal Government’s rules and regulations on COVID-19 in order to halt the spread of the novel Coronavirus Healthforbes media reports.
