Earlier today, Kano State Government has declared October 26, 2020 as the school reopening date forKano’s tertiary institutions after seven months of lockdown.
Dr. Mariya Bunkure, the state Commissioner for Higher Education announced this while speaking with newsmen on Monday night.
On Monday, the state had reopened nursery, primary and secondary schools for the students, excluding the JSS1 and SS1 classes respectfully.
According to Bunkure, the state government had put measures in order, regarding the fumigation and provision of personal protective equipment in battling the spread of the COVID019 pandemic in the school.
“We have resolved to reopen the schools based on the achievement recorded on the number of active cases of COVID-19, which has dropped in the state as well as the directive by the Presidential Task Force Committee to reopen the schools.
The following are the state owned tertiary institutions, Kano University of Science and Technology, Wudil, Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education, School of Nursing, Yusuf Maitama University and Kano State Polytechnic among others.
