Not less than 20,000 people in Ara and Ribi communities in Nasarawa and Awe Local Government Areas of Nasarawa State have been replaced by flood.
Mr Zakari Allumaga who is the Executive Secretary of the State Emergency Management Agency on Monday reported this incident.
According to Mr Zakari, the flood occured due to the heavy downpour in the communities.
The State Government has provided 50 trucks of food items for onward distribution to the victims that are affected by the heavy downpour in the community.
He also restated that boats and other life saving facilities such as canoes have been brought to evacuate people from the affected areas.
According to our source, the victims of the flood have been relocated to public buildings such as schools and palaces in the headquarters of the two Local Government Areas for shelter.
He stated, “The flood happened following the heavy downpour in Ara and Ribi communities in Nasarawa and Awe Local Government Areas of the state.”
