The Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has lifts the restrictions imposed on Churches and Mosques and orders the reopen of these worship places Healthforbes Media reporting.
This was in a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the state Governor, Humwashi Wonosiko, on Thursday,5th May, 2020.
“Churches, mosques and the International Cattle Market under lockdown can now reopen, but must ensure social distancing with no more than 50 at a time”the statement read.
According to the statement, other measures to be taken include, provision of hand sanitizers and proper washing of hands,temperature checks at entry points.
Added in the statement;”Government now believes the contagious rate is low enough to justify cautious easing of the restriction, but he warned that citizens must work extra hard on personal hygiene and strict adherence to the guidelines given.”
Fintiri said, the relaxation of the lock down is as a result of the 5 COVID-19 patients discharged from the isolation Center after been tested negative.
And also, Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawale, has raised the ban on religious gathering,which was imposed to to curb the spread of the COVID-19 in the state.
He announced this in a state-wide broadcast on Thursday in the state capital Healthforbes Media reporting.
He said; “I want to commend the people of the state for supporting the government in our endeavor to frustrate the spread of Coronavirus in our dear State by complying with the lockdown orders.
“In the light of this, therefore, we are suspending restrictions on congregational prayers in Churches and mosques while appealing to people not to converge in large numbers at the same time”.
Zamfara State have 73 confirmed cases five cases of death,and 18 Covid-19 patients discharged.
