A Teenager was said to have killed her husband for trying to have sex with her, says she’s not aware it’s a marriage obligation. The 17-year old wife who’s from Bauchi has said she thought her husband was trying to rape her.
Salma Hassan who resides in Itas-Gadau was arrested by the Bauchi Police Command on the 19th May on a Tuesday for killing her newly wedded husband by stabbing him to death.
Salma’s marriage to her new husband is only 11 days old before she murdered him.
Salma told journalists that when her husband approached her for sex that night, she saw the act very strangely as she has never engaged herself in sexual activities so she objected.
Her husband beat her and tried forcing himself on her, she then picked a kitchen knife to stop him but ended up stabbing him mistakenly with the knife.
In her statement, she said “We are married and we were inlove.
“I never knew sex is a marital obligation, on our wedding night when my husband approached me for sex, i denied him because i have never been involved in it. i thought he was going to defile me.
“He later got annoyed and tried forcing himself on me with serial beatings and slaps, then i picked up a kitchen knife to scare him away but he kept on coming so i angrily stabbed him in his chest mistakenly.
“I have already given my statements. im suffering negatively, im in great bitterness. i dont even know my fate as it stands, i greatly regret my actions”
According to a Police statement, a sharp knife was recovered when Salma Hassan was arrested for homicide at her residence in Itas-Gadau.
“On the 24/04/2020 at 0900hrs, one mallam Haruna Musa of Itas-Gadau reported at the division that a 17 year old Salma Hassan of same address killed her husband by stabbing him on the chest.
He sustained severe injuries and was immediately rushed to General hospital located at Itas-Gadau for treatment were he was confirmed dead.
The suspect confessed to the crime and was arrested. A sharpe knife was recovered from the suspect.
